Tutorial - shortening a pants

Not so important tutorial, but since some of my friends asked me how. I thought I'll just make a tutorial out of it.

Start with, wear the pants and fold the pipe to the length that you want

Mark it with sewing pin

Take the pants off :P

Measure the folding part, here is 7,5 cm

Mark 4 cm from the folding side, of course this is depends on how long the pants is originally, what kind of model etc.

Open the fold and put few sewing pins to make sure that it won't move when you cut it

Cut it

Fold the pipe 4 cm

Iron it

Folded half inside so you got 2 cm measurement

Iron it again

Put on the sewing pins so it wont move during sewing

Sew it

Cut the excess thread

Finish!!!

A happy customer :)

KM Dress 13

Summer is almost over. I start to wear long sleeves again. Time to make autumn clothes. I found a perfect model and perfect fabric of it. But then I'm not so sure about cutting the fabric. Then I found cheap tricot for 1 euro per meter, So I thought this would be a perfect fabric to try the pattern. So here it is

Pattern from Knip Mode Januari 2009, Dress no 13. size 36, fabric printed tricot. Now I'm going to make the real one

WR - Overgooier

From a hand me down, I take out the sleeves and collar. Put a basic A line dress pattern on it. The first plan is to make it with facing on the neck and sleeves, but there not enough fabric to work with. So I put biasband instead.

3019 look-a-like

It is imposibble to get the original pattern of Roos 3019 anymore. Sometimes if you're lucky, you can find it on the marktplaats (Dutch local ebay site) but the price is so ridiculous. Luckily Ottobre has a pattern that look like 3019. It can be found at Ottobre 3/2009, Three-way dress no. 18, size 92. I made it with printed cotton.

Sundress for me

Still using the idea from this website http://www.kukyideas.com/journal/2007/04/shirred-dress-tutorial.html. But instead of making the tube, I opted to shirred averything first the sew the sideseams. and I added the length to make it as a tunic instead of a blouse.
